Some celebrity announcements come with a twist. This one came with a plot twist worthy of the reality show that made the family famous.
The happy news
On 27 October, Savannah Chrisley, 29, told fans she is expecting her first baby. She shared it on her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, in an episode called "I'm Pregnant", and in an Instagram video, according to TMZ and Parenting Patch.
Her caption was emotional: "I've prayed for this life. I've cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine." She also wrote "we're having a BABY!" and praised her partner: "Not a single doctor's appointment missed." Parenting Patch reports the couple found out on a cruise, in Istanbul.
Fans already knew about the engagement. Her partner, Jason Galanis, 56, proposed in December 2025 in the Cayman Islands, with an oval diamond ring he designed with a jeweller in St. Louis.

The twist
Two days later, on 29 October, marriage records obtained by People magazine showed something fans didn't know. Savannah and Jason were already married. According to In Touch, Wealth of Geeks and Reality Tea, all citing People, they wed on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, at Cayman Islands Baptist Church. Reality Tea adds it was two days before his birthday.
Reality Tea's headline summed up the mood: she "apparently forgot to mention" it. To be fair, Wealth of Geeks and Reality Tea note that she never actually called Galanis her "fiancé" in the baby posts. Fans just assumed. So technically, no lie. Just a very well-kept secret.
The big wedding is still on, just later
Savannah had planned a big celebration for 9 January 2027. That's now moved. "It has just been pushed a few months to May of 2027," she said, quoted by Wealth of Geeks. The reason, according to Reality Tea, was the "surprise of a lifetime". A baby will do that to a seating plan.
Who is Jason Galanis?
This is where the gossip gets serious, so let's stick to the facts the outlets report. Galanis is a former financier who was convicted in several securities fraud schemes and sentenced in 2020 to 189 months in federal prison. In Touch reports one of the cases involved a bond scheme that defrauded a business arm of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Reality Tea notes he once worked with Hunter Biden's business partner Devon Archer and testified in a congressional inquiry in 2024. In March 2025, President Donald Trump commuted his sentence.
There's a family echo here. Savannah's parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, stars of the show Chrisley Knows Best, were themselves in prison for bank fraud and tax evasion and were pardoned by Trump in May 2025. Savannah campaigned publicly for their release.
What does Dad say?
Todd Chrisley kept it short on a podcast on 29 October, quoted by Wealth of Geeks: "At the end of the day, Savannah's story is her story to tell." A diplomatic answer from a man who's not famous for diplomatic answers.
Our take
Whatever you think of the family, a first baby is happy news, and we wish her an easy pregnancy. As for keeping a whole wedding secret for three months while living a very public life? Honestly, that's the most impressive thing a reality star has done all year.
